Tough Hike, Completely Worth It!

Hey everyone! On Christmas day my husband, brothers, my dad and I drove up to the beautiful Alta ski resort to do some snowshoeing. Jimmy (my husband), Ian (brother) and I strapped our skis to our backs, put our snowshoes on and we all headed up the mountain for some backcountry skiing! Wow! What a workout....I wore my new heart rate monitor and my average heart rate was 180 and I believe we burned at least 800 calories! I fully intend to continue doing this kind of exercise all my life. It's wonderful to have the capacity to go outside in the open and fresh air and do something you really love! Thanks Ian!

Why Exercise Won't Make You Thin

Why Exercise Won't Make You Thin
I wish the title of this was "Why exercise alone without proper nutrition won't make you thin"

Driving to work

I was driving to work the other day when I was ASTONISHED to hear that schools might be cutting physical education classes. REALLY? As if America needs another reason to become more sedentary and obese. Kids are meant to run around it's part of their development and for teens, they need it as a stress reliever (among other things) for having to fight the hardships of high school. We cannot let our potential be stifled by lack of exercise, it's so important to our health and development.
