The Tri (more or less)

Well, the triathlon went well despite the fact that my chip time never started. I was bummed that my times weren't recorded and I couldn't measure my progress. BUT, I felt good. The triathlon (although it's nice to have measures) is really all about having something to train for and a goal to achieve. Having that single solitary goal no matter how big or small keeps us moving forward. This was a BIG goal but I've also had smaller goals helping me along the way like cutting out my lunch time desserts. Since January I've worked on that goal and my energy during the day has increased, thus helping me feel more like working out later. So despite your goal size, MAKE GOALS and find someone who will help you stay accountable.

P.S

I almost forgot to tell you how great my morning was! After waking up and doing some reading I decided to go out for a walk. If any of you are familiar with Mapleton then you know how quiet of a town it is. I love that. I walked around for about an hour in the warmth and sunshine just thinking about life and saying some prayers. There's something about walking and being outdoors that brings clarity and as walked. I soaked in all of the scenery, sunshine, fresh air, the occasional dogs barking, cows mooing, and heard some kids playing and as I walked I really began to appreciate what life will have to bring me in the coming years as I get closer to having a family and a home. Point being..........go outside and take a walk, it feels great!

My class this week

In my health coaching class this past week we learned to identify our "energy zappers". Things like unfinished tasks, laundry that needs to be done, work conflicts, lack of exercise etc. We were asked to make a list of 50 energy zappers in our lives and then to start eliminating them. I can't tell you how liberating it feels to know what's soaking up and taking away from my life. Now that I know what they are I can't wait to start freeing up my life! Give it a try. P.S. I'm on my way out of town for the triathlon. 80 degrees and sunshine watch out!

Have a successful, peaceful and joyous day and weekend!
